laying in bed in the dark
listening to love songs
crying with all my soul
it hurts so bad to lose you
in the throes of my sadness
you called out to me
opened up and shared your mysteries
all my tears just disappeared
in the warmth of your light
everything changed so blessedly
I just love you so much more
thoroughly enjoyed getting closer
and closer to you
it felt like paradise and I
danced barefoot in the snow
in celebration of all that you are
nearly forgetting the awful truth
this is only temporary
I can see it happening
my heart slips through my hands
falling broken and bleeding
the cold creeps in at night
and I know I’ll be alone
it was just a dream
soon I’ll have to be awake
before you go I want to thank you
for giving me this chance to feel
I pray you’ll learn to dream so large
and celebrate despite the cold
someday you just might have
a dream that never ends
I hope to find you there
